Tax Losses From Cigarette Smuggling in South Africa

Tobacco smuggling in South Africa causes tax losses of $418 Million (3 Billion South African Rand) every year, according to industry experts.

Over 25 percent of the cigarette market in South Africa consists of illegal tobacco.

The losses are higher than the previously reported cigarette smuggling losses of $300 Million.
