According to intelligence conducted by security researchers, stolen identity that includes a person’s social security number, credit card number, expiration date and mother’s maiden name is sold for $4 to $5 per person.
To buy a pack of 1,000 credit card numbers is reportedly just $6. Whether these credit card numbers are still active or have been shut down is unknown by the purchasers, thus the low price.
In comparison, it costs $15 to buy 10,000 fake Twitter followers and $15 to buy 1,000 Facebook “Likes”.
