Price paid to remove petition complaints in China

According to a Chinese investigative reporter, local officials pay between $475 to $792 (3,000 to 5,000 Yuan) to remove petition complaints from citizens. These complaints are filled in Beijing and complaints are used to judge whether to promote a local official.
