Prescription Drug Smuggling in the United States and Mexico

Federal law enforcement officials reported to the Associated Press that prescription drug smugglers purchase pills in the United States for $2 and sells it to Mexican pharmacists for $3.50. The pharmacy in Mexico then sells it back to smugglers who ultimately sells it to addicts in the United States for $6.
