Majority of prostitutes in India join trade voluntarily

Nearly 70 percent of women working in India‘s prostitution industry voluntarily chose to work in the field, according to the study First pan-India survey of sex workers.

A majority of the women were from rural and poverty areas and entered the sex trade after attempting over forms of employment.
