An estimated $5 Billion in goods is smuggled illegally between India and Bangladesh each year. In comparison, the official trade between the two countries is worth less than $3 Billion a year.
Various items such as cattle, fruits, spices and DVDs are smuggled from India into Bangladesh. Small arms, fake currency, and fish oil are among the items that are smuggled from Bangladesh into India.
