Half of All Guns Seized in Mexico Are Assault Weapons

Of the 300,000 guns that have been seized by authorities between December 2006 and April 2009, 15,000 are assault weapons.  A majority of the assault guns are believed to have been purchased at one of the roughly 7,500 guns shops on the United States side of the border and trafficked and sold in Mexico.
