There were a reported 6,034 financial fraud cases in India involving credit and debit cards in 2013, according to statistics released by the Reserve Bank of India.
In addition to the fraud cases, there were 2,464 hacking cases registered in 2012. 1440 of the cases were related to the loss of computer resources, and 435 were related to hacking.
A total of 749 people were arrested for cyber fraud activities in 2012 in India.
