Driving under the influence of drugs in the US

16.3 percent of all drivers at night in the United States were under the influence of various legal and illegal drugs, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Half of the drivers with drugs in their system smoked marijuana.

In the state of California alone, nearly 1,000 deaths and injuries are caused by driving under the influence of drugs.
