200 Percent Increase in Food Seizures at EU borders

Between 1998 and 2004, the number of counterfeit food and beverages seized at the borders of the European Union increased by 200 percent.

In 2004, the number of counterfeit food and beverages seized was 4.4 million, with products from Lipton, Coca Cola and Nestle being the most counterfeited brands seized.
